PC Richard Pearce, based at Central East Command Unit (CE), will answer allegations that his conduct amounted to breaches of the Standards of Professional Behaviour, in respect of:

On 3 February 2020, PC Pearce is alleged to have shared a post on social media that could reasonably be perceived to be offensive and discriminatory.
On 31 July 2020, PC Pearce is alleged to have shared a second post on social media that could reasonably be perceived to be offensive and discriminatory.
PC Pearce is further alleged to have been threatening and hostile to another that complained about the comments being offensive.
It is alleged that PC Pearce has breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of ‘Authority, Respect and Courtesy’, ‘Equality and Diversity’ and ‘Discreditable Conduct’. Further, this conduct is alleged to amount to gross misconduct as it is so serious as to justify dismissal.
The hearing will commence on Monday 1 February 2022, at 10am at Empress State Building, Lille Road, SW6 1TR and is listed for four days.
The identity of victims/witnesses will be protected during the hearing as appropriate.
